I am from Argentina and I reside in Germany.
I work as an art curator and visual artist.
I graduated in Visual Arts from La Plata National University, (Argentina) and I have taken a postgraduate course in Management of Contemporary Art Galleries in Spain. In order to disseminate emerging art I have published two books: “Contemporary Play” (Grupo Babel, Argentina) and "Human Art" (Universo de Letras, Spain), both in three languages (Spanish, German and English). In 2009 und 2020 I presented them at the Frankfurt International Book Fair.
As a visual artist (Mariellage), I do multidisciplinary work, where I build my identity from fragments. In these I capture, like in an intimate diary, my feelings from words to the visual (in light lamps, vinyl interventions, paintings, installations, collage on canvas and paper).
I have participated in numerous art exhibitions and have received recognition for my work both in Argentina and in Europe, being invited to: Interviews, meetings, congresses with museology, communication, and art curator professionals (Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Spain).
My work has been included in Irene Jaievsky's “Curatorial practices booklet”.
A trip "My world is anywhere” (Traces - 04/2023)
We live in a world where everything happens very fast, where immediacy, the ephemeral and the superficial are the most important. But in the face of this whirlwind of information, one can get lost and feel the need to look for areas to find oneself.
Art is the place, it is a human expression, where feelings, values and commitment to others are involved. My artwork navigates between two cultures and between two languages, German and Spanish. Language is present in my artworks as well as in my books, and I have transferred this geographical duality to my work, in the essence of which there are always autobiographical elements.
I think there is a strong integration between life and art. I always wonder what our place in the world is and how we choose it. You can feel that. We carry the essence within us, and with all that baggage we can choose the physical place to be. But at the same time, we carry something impregnated in our DNA. We wonder what our ancestors have left us... our skin color?, the color of our eyes? That's all superficial, there are things that remain in the depths and travel with us.
Who does not remember a saying of our parents that we repeat endlessly? Who does not remember some laughter or card game? Do we remember drinking mate like my mother and father did at home? Shall we prepare some food the way my grandmother did? All experiences come with us, voices, smells, looks, laughter, jokes, songs........
Experiences that remind us that we have to live, that we don't let life pass us by. We are full of footprints, and we have to leave our own ones, in a painting, in a word to the other, in a photo, in a book or in a song, with our own identity.
Successes, mistakes, patience, humor and courage, but always with our hearts in our hands.
The Bite
The bite,
The thunder in the sky
The stone at the window,
I don’t know what it was, but something woke me
I began sinking into a different state, an inner process of awakening
Signs,
My steps traveled with my thoughts to your garden
I live, I feel, I find you, I search for you, I want to touch your hands, I want to embrace you
My heartbeat also draws near to see
The bonds that tie us will disappear—who will take care of you?
Will everything go on?
Everything will go on.
