Dance (NAT Art Residence - 04/2023)
A stranger in this land. Land's stranger still
Without a guidance heel of the boot
Leaves stain on ground and rock and hill
The corner of the eye catches a glimpse
Of unknown's movement just out of reach
In different ways here nature speaks
Within the mountain peaks wind howls
It tears the leaves of forest's crowns
And in the roar of sea dwindles and dies
Organs and horns in harmony
Invite to join them in their hymn
The thorns rip off the foreign clothes
To let the beat be drummed up with bare soles
The roaring of the waves. With them we roar
What once escaped the sight is coming near
Bear, wolf and bison, mammoth or deer
In dance eternal
Charmed into being
Carved in the wood, for ages still.
