Hug (Traces - 06/2021)

Trying to let go of fears ……. "I give myself to the Embrace"

To the embrace of the dear people who surround me and those who accompany me even if they are no longer there. In the embrace with certain plants and animals, in the warmth of the sun, of the colors and aromas that surround my senses, embracing this chant of the Mantra Pushpam with its vibration referring to Water, which makes my heart beat more stripped, almost to the surface, this meditation brings me closer to that feeling.

In this story I will refer to fear of death, loneliness, whose thoughts continue to encompass me in stages, so I take refuge in hugs. The embrace of loved ones to dilute the great fear of being finite. Time seems to run too fast to experience everything that makes me vibrate. I rush, stumble and then stop, feeling, so as not to lose my essence. "I am like a constant whirlwind of ideas, work and emotions."

I chose to go through a search giving myself to art every day. This made it possible for me to release deeply rooted structures. Surprising me to acquire a certain strength in the face of adversity, and also to continue playing with the surrounding space, thanks to the learning that sculpture enabled me to understand and feel. Understanding the space is fundamental to me.

So, under the emotion that in this seminar with Andrea Juan and Gabriel Penedo Diego

I risk venturing into writing a story, imagining myself to be a Fish…

The year 2021 was passing, on an autumn walk I stopped to dream. Relaxing and releasing desires and fears, I wrote a STORY that grew with the emotion of a feeling ...

HUG

Walking along the seashore, I saw two birds floating adrift, suddenly they felt under their legs a great vibration in the waters. They immerse their heads under the surface discovering what would be a feast to their senses ... a whirlwind formed by small fish that turned and spun at full speed, mixing the hues of the water. Witnesses to that disturbing tremor saw a shoal struggling to break out of its confinement.

Shaking inside a net, hundreds of fish managed to break it and fled through a small space, moving away one by one, in a synchronized dance of absolute coordination. Happy to continue their migration route, they would spawn thousands of future individuals in a bank, renewing the natural cycle.

One of the fish, always distracted by his imagination, left the group behind when he spotted a showy purple flower, which was lying at the bottom of the sea.

That fish was SARDIN, known for his innocence and sense of dispersion.

He was so dazzled by the beauty of that found flower, that taking it gently between his teeth and guided by the light from the surface, he made a great leap out of the water. The salty breeze caressed her back and with that vigor, she began to wave her beautiful flower as an offering to life.

One of the birds, attentive to the movement, approached the fish gently and instead of attacking it, it surrounded it between its wings in a great "flying hug." Such a display of affection between two such different species became a legend.

When touched with its feathers, the bird transferred a little of its white color to SARDIN whose scales were tinged with silver and white.

The whitish fish decided to continue traveling and repeat the amazing hug with other beings. Each one that he brushed with his fins, allowed him to incorporate a tone, becoming a striking multi-colored species.

SARDIN enjoyed his free time, encouraging himself to face new challenges. He swam many miles a day, cartwheeling, approaching never-before-explored corners. It advanced against the current fighting and also floated slightly sideways between sharp chasms.

Thus it was that he also ran into dangerous enemies. Attracted by his attractive appearance, a huge shark approached him with the impetus to devour him, the chase lasted several minutes when he received a tremendous blow, leaving him inert on the bottom of the sea.

There he remained still for a long time, which made his menacing beast believe he was dead and move away. The fish, somewhat dizzy, and quite afraid, thought he saw the footprints of his ancestors imprinted on the rocks. Holding tightly to what he imagined to be his father's footprint, he was able to release the pain of his loss and understood the importance of enjoying each day. Then he swam closer to the surface feeling the embrace of the sun, and when he waved his tail the bubbles were transformed into a dense multi-colored foam.

Slowly gliding he befriended huge turtles, crabs, stingrays and all kind of creatures, swimming deep and across reefs. He related by learning from others, hearing the most dissimilar stories of life. The childish sound of laughter that came from the shore, reminded him of the antics of his childhood then he approached and with his belly he caressed their feet.

The tingling that produced so much adrenaline kept his imagination afloat. He spent several years partly hiding, partly daring to wallow in the plants or in the sand, where he drew shapes with his body.

So it was that in a magical sunrise, he felt the vibration of a beat that took hold of him, beating at its own pace, the sound of a Mantra reminded him of past times.

He began to swim slower, letting himself be carried away by the flow of the water wrapped in a calm that filled his soul. In the distance he recognized seeing his Shoal and approaching his heart was beating strongly hugging them with his fins

A great happiness seized him again to confidently surrender to the Embrace, that true embrace, an embrace with himself and with his loved ones….
