I was born and studied in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1978, I obtained a Ph.D. degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires.
I specialized in Geophysics because of my great curiosity in the natural processes of the earth.
Photography has always been a special interest of mine, it all started when I was an adolescent and my father gave me my first camera, which accompanied me for several years.
I could not always dedicate myself to it because I had a very active professional life. However, in my prospecting campaigns, I not only collected geophysical data, but also many images.
Also, since I was young, I had the need to know and photograph new places. I have made many tourist and study trips abroad with long stays.
Today with more time I have taken up again this old passion, I have joined “Espacio Fotográfico Marcelo Gurruchaga” since 2010, attending courses, taking photosafaris and participating in several group exhibitions.
Stable and ephemeral (Art in the Origin - 09/2024)
In this project I played with superimposing images, on the one hand, the still and stable mountains, with the waves in their constant coming and going that form ephemeral landscapes. These rocky masses suggest to me rigid and ancient structures, while the waters in their continuous movement with something new and vital.
Additionally, I have superimposed my shadow, which represents me, with the image of the sea, which moves me and inspires me emotions.
Perhaps reflecting my old prejudices with new challenges, throughout my life I have faced new contests that have influenced me to dare to produce changes.
At any age, reconciling new behaviors with apparently inflexible structures allows for personal growth.
