OdA Fellows

OdA Fellowships

OdA, an art space in Buenos Aires (Argentina), wishes to encourage the participation of artists from all over the world in the seminar Art in the Origin, Art Experience in Cantabria.
For this, it has reached an agreement with SM Pro Art Circle to offer, annually, two fellowships, consisting of 50% of the value of the participation fee in the seminar, for each of two international artists, whose projects are worthy of such a distinction.

Fellows 2020

Estela Ivkovcic (Argentina, Buenos Aires, 1970)

She develops visual arts teaching duties and assists artists with their work. She currently assists Mirta Kupferminc.

Pati Caro (Venezuela, 1988)

I studied at the Andy Goldstein School of Creative Photography, in Buenos Aires and I also did my previous studies of Electronic Engineering (city), Venezuela. I currently live and work in Buenos Aires.
I have done workshops and seminars on photography, film, fine art printing, painting, drawing and singing.
I have organized and curated multicultural events of Cinema, photography and poetry, where I exhibited a short film directed by myself. 
I have participated in various individual and collective exhibitions in the cities of Buenos Aires and La Plata.

Marcela Pupo y Spencer Prego
I was born on September 20, 1976. I grew up in a family of artists and art teachers. Since I was two years old I was always in contact with art, drawing, painting and sculpting in clay. I studied Visual Arts with specialization in printmaking. I did several courses and workshops on Engraving and Lithography in Argentina and at the Tamarind Institute in the United States. I participated in group exhibitions as well as individual. Currently I work in Museography and as a teacher in my own studio, the same studio my parents ran and which I attended from my early childhood.
Graciela Bayala
Grace Bayala was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is graduated in Curatorship and Art Management at ESEADE University. She is a self- employed person who provides counseling to local and foreign artists. As a curator, she has performed several exhibitions in Art Galleries and Cultural Institutions such as Palais de Glace, Centro Cultural Recoleta and Centro Cultural Borges. She is currently being tutored by Fabiana Barreda who has curated some of her
exhibitions. She learned and approached Shamanism at Fundation for Shamanic Studies Michael Harner from California, USA. As a result, she has developed research works on Shamanism and Contemporary Art.

Judith Martínez Estrada

1973, Ingham. Australian-Spanish artist, designer and illustrator.
In her work she borrows fragments from the past to create a new present, exploring the themes of identity, emigration, nostalgia and reinvention.
Her exhibition ‘Fragmented Spectres’ (January 2018) at The Rocks Discovery Museum in Sydney was a visual study of the archaeological artefact archives of Sydney’s Old Town. Her book, The Empty Jar, under the pseudonym ‘Pablo Browne’ was launched at the Melbourne Writers Festival in 2015.
Judith has exhibited her work in Australia and Spain and attended residencies in both Australia and the USA.
Diego Narváez Herrasti

Mexico City, 1984 - Lives and Works in Canada. He studied Bachelor of Visual Arts, Faculty of Arts and Design - UNAM. He won the Medal Gabino Barreda with the highest average of his generation. He received the first place of the First National Painting Biennial Luis Nishizawa. Narváez has obtained the support of Young Creators of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (Mexico) in 2018, 2012 and 2010.
In 2014, he participated in the Hafnarborg and HEIMA Residences in Iceland and in 2012 in Antarctica.
Main exhibitions in: CDMX, Oaxaca, Los Angeles (USA) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) among others. His works include the collections: Banco de México, Kaluz Collection, Museum of Natural History and Environmental Culture and Grupo Milenio. Narváez has been jury 3 times in contests of PECDA, Ministry of Culture, Mexico.

Andrea Juan

Artist, curator, founder of SM Pro Art Circle and director of Art in the Origin. She has curated, among others, the 230 exhibits of Impact 10 - Santander 2018. 
She also curated shows in Mexico, the U.K, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Australia, the USA and Russia.
She created and directed the Art Residence in Antarctica and the Sur Polar collective.
Awarded with the Guggenheim Fellowship, Canadian Government Award, UNESCO Fellowship, Konex Award; Gold Amazon  Award from Benín; 1 Prize at IV Beijing International Art  Biennial, China, among others.
Her most recent exhibitions have taken place in the National Museum of Altamira, Denver, Bangkok, Santander, Casablanca, Bilbao, Tokyo, Barcelona, St. Petersburg, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Beijing, Yeosu, Quebec, Sofia, Washington and Buenos Aires
