OdA Fellowships
OdA,
Art Space, in Buenos Aires (Argentina) wishes to encourage the participation of artists from all over the world in the seminar Art in the Origin, Art Experience in Cantabria.
To this end, OdA has reached an agreement with SM Pro Art Circle to offer two grants, consisting of 50% of the value of the participation fee in the seminar, for each of two international artists, whose projects are worthy of such distinction.
Therefore:

Two (2) Fellowships for Art in the Origin, Art Experience in Cantabria.
September / October 2020 edition
Bases:
OdA
will grant two Fellowships
to two artists.
Each one consists of 50% of the participation fee
in ART in the ORIGIN, Art Experience in Cantabria, Spain, for the seminar to be held in the months of September / October 2020.
The Seminar:
The participation fee in Art in the Origin has a value of € 2500.
- and includes the fees of the members of our team, who accompany and guide the group during the 9 days, 8 nights’ accommodation in a single room with private bathroom in Rural Hostel, all meals, refreshments, the collection of participants in the city of Santander and all transfers to the places where we will work, tickets to the caves, cable car and taxes.
Fellowship:
Two fellowships will be awarded to attend the seminar ART in the ORIGIN, Art Experience in Cantabria in the editions of September / October 2020.
OdA
will cover 50% of the participation fee in the seminar, that is € 1250.-
leaving the other 50% (€ 1250.- ) in charge of the granted artist. The granted artist has also the responsibility to be in the city of Santander, Cantabria (Spain) on the date required to be picked up by our team and transferred to the city in which the base of the seminar is established.
Fellowships may not be added to other discounts or benefits offered by SM Pro Art Circle.
The fellowship is only enjoyed by the winner on the scheduled date, and in no case it is transferable, postponable, reimbursable or exchangeable for cash.
Participants:
Artists from all over the world of legal age, and in any discipline of the arts, will be able to participate in the call.
The seminar is given in Spanish or English. Artists are required to speak at least one of these languages.
The artists that present themselves to the call expressly accept that:
• Have read these rules of participation
• Know all details of Art in the Origin, and
• Fellowships must be enjoyed on the aforementioned dates. Therefore, when presented, they agree that:
Must be present, by their own means, in Santander, Cantabria on the selected dates.
Accept that they will be responsible for 50% of the participation fee not covered by the fellowship.
Project:
The selection of the winners will be made from the evaluation of the projects and the backgrounds of the applicants.
For this, they must present a project to be developed during the art experience.
Since Art in the Origin is not an Art in Residency Program but a seminar, the selected projects will be developed with the guidance and support of our directors and, therefore, susceptible to be modified during the development to ensure its realization.
The project will be carried out in the natural environment and must be respectful with the environment.
Projects that relate to the Origin of Art, the preservation of the environment and the care of our habitat through the communion between Art and Nature will be widely valued.
Jury:
The jury of selection of the two OdA fellowships will be formed by a representative of SM Pro Art and two invited artists.
Selection Process:
The jury will select a winning project and alternate projects in order of selection.
The winning artists of the Fellowships will participate in Art in the Origin Seminar in September / October, 2020.
Submissions
for this Fellowship will be open from December 15, 2019 to March 30, 2020.
The selection
of the winning projects and the substitutes, by the jury, will take place on April 15, 2020.
The winners
of the fellowships and the substitutes will be notified
by e-mail on that dates.
The winners must confirm
that they accept the fellowship by April 20, 2020
and formalize the registration through “Place Reservation” and payment (€ 300.-) by April 24, 2020.
If one of the winner formally withdraw or fail to comply with the above mentioned terms to register, he/she will lose the right to the fellowship without having anything to claim to OdA or SM Pro Art Circle.
The fellowship withdrawn or not confirmed, will be granted to the substitute in the pre-established order in the selection process.
The substitute notified as the new winner will have 15 days, from the moment of the notification, to complete the process of confirmation and registration before detailed.
The process will be repeated successively until the confirmation of the two winners who accept the fellowship and formalize their participations.
In the event that the winner, once confirmed the acceptance and formalized his/her registration through the detailed process, notify that he/she are not be able to attend or not come to participate in Art in the Origin will lose all the acquired rights for the fellowship, although he / she invokes force majeure, not being able to request postponement, reimbursement, compensation or exchange for cash.
Key dates:
• The granted artists will participate in Art in the Origin in the following dates:
- September 18 to 26, 2020 and / or
- October 2 to 10, 2020
• Submission: from December 15, 2019 to March 30, 2020.
• Two winning projects and alternate projects will be selected in order of merits.
• Selection
of the two winning project and alternates by April 15, 2020.
• The winning and alternate artists will be notified by e-mail.
• The winner artists must confirm
by email the acceptance of the fellowship by April 20, 2020.
• The winner artists
must formalize
their registration by making “Place Reservation” and payment (€ 300.-) by April 24, 2020.
• In case of withdrawal of the winner, the substitute who is notified as a new winner of the Fellowship must confirm their acceptance and formalize their registration within 15 days from the date of notification.
Note: If any of the winners formally desists or fails to comply with the aforementioned deadline to formalize the registration, they will lose the right to the fellowship without any complain to OdA or SM Pro Art Circle. The grant, abandoned or not confirmed, goes directly to the substitutes in the pre-established order in the selection process.

Each participating artist must:
1. Complete the online registration on our website. In the same form, in addition to the personal data, the applicant must include the following information:
2. A summary of the project to be developed in the natural environment (up to 100 words)
3. A project to be developed in the natural environment (up to 1000 words)
4. A short CV up to 300 words (Word or PDF)
5. A portrait photo of the artist (jpg up to 1Mb.)
6. 3 images of previous pieces (jpg up to 1Mb. each)
IMPORTANT: Not be considered submissions that not comply with all the requirements.
Exhibition at OdA:
In addition to the fellowship, those granted will be able to participate in the annual Art in the Origin exhibition at OdA, Buenos Aires - Argentina.
The exhibition at OdA will be held in November 2020 with a selection of the artworks carried out in 2020 edition.
Catalogue:
A printed and digital catalogue will be published with a selection of the artworks made in ART in the ORIGIN 2020.
Any unforeseen event not assumed in the bases will be resolved by SM Pro Art Circle.
